   Too bad the process in Washington has become so toxic that no good ideas or dialog will be tolerated. The new strategy seems to be a game of “Gotcha”. Paint any idea as a wedge issue to campaign on, not a reason for finding a solution to our problems.

   Unfortunately I concur with Ed. In this polarized political environment, even sensible, pragmatic reforms will not move forward. For the 85% of Americans who have insurance coverage, the issue is cost, not expansion of coverage to the uninsured. With the huge increases in insurance premiums being announced, at some point the public is going to demand action. Whether Congress has the will to take on the special interest groups remains the question.
